  • DENVER, Colo., February 1, 2017 — XTI Aircraft Company (XTI) announced today that Robert J. LaBelle has joined XTI as its Chief Executive Officer.  He joins XTI after three years as CEO of AgustaWestland North America.  Prior to that he served as President of AgustaWestland Tiltrotor Company, Inc., the company supporting the development of the AW 609 Tiltrotor.  “I view this position with XTI as a unique opportunity,” LaBelle said, “to help bring to the commercial market and business jet market a revolutionary new aircraft that people have been seeking and dreaming about for over 100 years.” LaBelle joined AgustaWestland in 2004 after a career in the U.S. Navy where he was program manager for several aircraft, including the E-2 Hawkeye, C-2 Greyhound aircraft, F/A-18 Foreign Military Sales, and S-3B Viking aircraft. “We couldn’t be more excited to have Bob step in and lead the TriFan 600 program,” said XTI’s outgoing CEO, Charlie Johnson.  “Bob is a highly respected, talented and experienced aircraft industry executive.” LaBelle replaces Johnson, who was XTI’s interim CEO.  Johnson will remain on XTI’s board of directors, a position he’s held since 2014.   “We’re grateful to Charlie,” said David Brody, XTI’s founder and Chairman, “for taking over in February 2016 and leading the company after the tragic loss of Jeff Pino.  We’re looking forward to Charlie’s continuing contributions and guidance as a board member.” The TriFan 600 is a major breakthrough in aviation and air travel.  The six-seat aircraft will have the speed, range and comfort of a business jet and the ability to take off and land vertically, like a helicopter.  Using three ducted fans, the TriFan 600 lifts off vertically.  Its two wing fans rotate forward for a seamless transition to cruise speed, at 35,000 feet and 400 miles an hour, with a range of up to 1,600 miles.  The late Jeff Pino led XTI after a long and successful tenure as Sikorsky’s chief executive.  Charlie Johnson is the former president and COO of Cessna, a leading business jet manufacturer.  “Now,” said Brody, “Bob’s decision to join XTI despite his many other opportunities further validates our TriFan program.  We’ve attracted some of the highest quality leadership and talent because we have an exceptional project and an aircraft with a potentially significant market that will change flight forever.” XTI launched a formal stock offering in 2016 under SEC Regulation A+, which is open to all investors around the globe.  Shares in XTI may be purchased at www.startengine.com/startup/xti providing a unique opportunity for the general public to invest in an aerospace company with a game-changing product, a world-class leadership team, and significant growth potential.  In addition to the equity crowdfunding financing, in the fourth quarter of 2016 XTI opened a $20 million Series B round for accredited investors only, led by Wall Street investment bank, Primary Capital.  Accredited investors seeking more information should contact John Leo at XTI@primaryllc.com or (212) 300-0064. Superior in-flight experience and global coverage seduces elite Chinese travellers VistaJet voted Business Jet Operator Star Performer at Hurun Research Institute’s ‘Best of the Best’ Awards Voted for by 449 High Net Worth individuals from more than 40 cities in China Second time VistaJet has won the award Company was also given the Best Charter Operator Award by Asian Business Aviation Association in November 2016 January 25, 2017, Hong Kong – VistaJet, the first and only global aviation company, received the Business Jet Operator Star Performer accolade for the second time at the Hurun Research Institute’s “Best of the Best” awards in Shanghai. The awards are based on the results of the Hurun Report Chinese Luxury Consumer Survey 2017. This is the thirteenth consecutive year Hurun Research has produced a report on the brand preferences, consumption habits and lifestyle trends of China’s wealthiest individuals; considered a benchmark for the luxury sector. To select the winners, Hurun Research Institute visited 449 of the most influential high net worth individuals in China, who voted based on their personal experiences. Each of the voters has assets of over CNY 10 million, and has travelled by private jet previously. The aviation entrants were judged against a broad range of metrics including customer service, global coverage, and in-flight experience.   VistaJet has seen strong growth both globally and in Asia in recent years. It has increased the size of its fleet from 32 aircraft in 2013 to 71 today, and the company now regularly serves over 90% of the globe. The company saw triple digit growth in flights from Europe and the US to Asia in the first half of 2016, with Greater China proving particularly popular. With a dedicated Chinese-registered aircraft, VistaJet is one of the few international operators with the ability to fly domestically in the country through its partnership with Apex Air. VistaJet is committed to offering the highest in-flight standards in the industry. That means more than just providing the space and convenience of a private aircraft. Everything in the journey can be personalised, from the temperature of the cabin to the dining experience, the cocktail menu to the in-flight entertainment. Every aircraft comes with a complete office suite, custom fitted Skysleeper mattresses and cashmere blankets, as well as a cabin crew trained by the British Butler Institute to welcome customers on board. One of the key factors that differentiates VistaJet from its competitors in Asia is its unique business model, which gives customers an unrivalled level of flexibility. Customers only pay for the hours they are in the air, there are no positioning fees, and no asset risk. Because the company has invested to grow its fleet, it can offer something no one else in the market can, a truly global service that is consistently best in class. Chairman and Founder Thomas Flohr said: “China is an incredibly important market for us, so we are proud to have received the Business Jet Operator Star Performer accolade for the second time at Hurun Research Institute’s Best of the Best Awards. “  We know that consistency of service is important in Asia. That is why we have invested in our fleet and service, so that not only do all our aircraft look and feel the same, but we can also offer the same high service levels, regardless of whether a customer is flying from Shanghai to London, or New York to Tokyo. That’s something our competitors can’t match”.

  • AsBAA, the Asian region’s non-for-profit representative trade body for business aviation has announced Phil Balmer, Director Maintenance, of TAG Aviation Asia as the new Chairman of its Hong Kong Committee. The announcement was made at the Hong Kong Committee meeting, 19 January, hosted in TAG’s new offices, Harcourt House, Wan Chai. The meeting was attended by around 30 AsBAA members representing: operators, business support services, [Insurance, Legal, FBO etc.] and included a presentation ceremony to recognise the long-standing contribution of Hongkong Jet CEO, Mr. Denzil White who stood down as Chairman of the committee at the end of 2016.   AsBAA Chairman, Charlie Mularski shared, “We welcome Phil as Head of the AsBAA Hong Kong Committee. Phil and the team at TAG play a prominent role in supporting local business aviation priorities. We are confident that the AsBAA HK Committee can continue to make improvements on behalf of the wider membership under his leadership. We also take this opportunity to thank Denzil for all the great work he’s done leading and supporting the Hong Kong Committee over the last two years.” Phil shared, "my goal is to continue the excellent momentum which was created from persistence and hard work by the volunteers of AsBAA. I believe the best way to maximize the opportunities for the business aviation industry is through a unified approach, and AsBAA is now clearly being recognised as the voice of the industry."   The announcement was made on the same day that AsBAA attended a 5th meeting with HKCAD and the Airport Authority in order to take steps forward on the current capacity issues at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). With parking and slots limitations at HKIA recently causing significant problems to business aviation owners, users and service providers, AsBAA has been working closely with the authorities on an action plan to maximise resources, booking software (OCS) and BAPs , and raise awareness of the economic benefits of business aviation to Hong Kong. Mularski said, “The third runway will not be available for 8-10 years, therefore our focus now is on working with the authorities to implement practices that maximise resources and create tangible change. We were encouraged to see that AsBAA’s recommendations relating to penalties and cancellation guidelines made at earlier meetings have already been implemented. When looking at the statistical impact of the suggested changes, we can see positive change with around a 25% reduction in wasted slots. We will continue this work with the authorities, members and the media to ensure that Hong Kong does not miss out on the economic benefits our industry brings to the city.”

  • On March 17th 2016, the first G650ER which is an ultra long-range aircraft finally arrived in China and the delivery was made to Minsheng Financial Leasing Co.(MSFL) “The delivery has been significant for so many reasons,” said Mark Burns, President of Gulfstream. “This highlights the vital need for long range company jet travel in China, a role that has been played by MSFL very well especially in the support of Gulfstream’s presence in China. This is in-line with the high operation capabilities that the brand new G6 (Gulfstream-G650ER), an airplane that arrived at the customer’s base at precisely the said duration and even surpassed its promise.”     In March 2008, the G650 was announced to the world and its expected range was 5000 nautical miles which is around 9,260 kilometers at Mach 0.90. The airplane entered service in 2012 and since then, it has been able to operate at 6,000 nm which is equivalent to 11,112 kilometers at Mach 0.90.  Its predecessor, the extended range G650ER has been on a globe girdling operation therefore delivering 6,400 nautical miles which is equivalent to 11,853 km at Mach 0.90. The same airplane has been able to operate at Mach 0.85 achieving a distance of 7500 nautical miles which is equivalent to 13, 890 km.   To ensure that the passengers get to experience the healthiest and most comfortable experience when jetting around the world, the company paired it with amazing features. The features include a large airplane interior, spacious seats, more room for the crew to walk around, windows that offer amazing views, the most silent interior with low noise and the lowest interior distance ever achieved by an airplane.   The G650ER was announced in May 2014 by the company and five months later, it received the Federal Aviation Administration type certification.Since then, the company has proceeded to enhance the already high performing airplane by adding the auto-braking functionality in late 2015.   In April 2008, Minsheng Financial Leasing was formed and in June 2010, the firm took delivery of its first airplane which was the G450. The company has proceeded to grow its fleet since then. MSFL today has become recognized as the largest jet owner in Asia. It operates 64 airplanes from the company therefore supporting its aviation leasing operation.
